Progress Schools - Liverpool

Progress Schools is a nationally based, alternative SEND and SEMH education provider with independent secondary schools located throughout England. We provide high-quality, supportive, and inspirational teaching to 11 – 16 year-olds at Key Stage 3 and 4. Our bespoke approach ensures positive progression either back into mainstream education, or into the world of further education, work-based learning, or employment when leaving us in Year 11.

We use a range of innovative teaching methods in GCSE English, Maths, ICT, and vocational subjects.
We know that one size doesn’t fit all, that is why our industry expert teachers deliver individualised
teaching to students who require a different approach to mainstream education. We support and develop our young people, challenging them to push the boundaries of their capabilities despite their academic, emotional, behavioural and social needs.

Via the exceptional teaching and learning of our staff, our students are well prepared for the modern world, with our staff supporting them to develop not only their academic knowledge, but also their soft skills such as communication, time management and people skills. This positive approach to learning helps to boost the confidence of our students. We aim to empower our students to make a willing and able contribution to their communities and achieve success in their chosen paths upon leaving us.

Referral Details

Referrals and consultations for places are either submitted via the Local Authority Alternative Provision Team, SEN Team, or the School where the young person is registered. Referral forms should be provided together with an EHCP (if applicable) and any other relevant information from the student's school file and this must include prior attainment, learning and attendance records.

Other notes

We improve attendance rates and the behaviour of our pupils. The key to our success is unlocking the young person’s potential by making them see which skills they already have, and how we can build on these which enables the young person to see how they can achieve their goals.
