Young Inspectors - LCC

Our Young Inspectors, are young people from North and South Liverpool. They are aged between 11-19 years old (up to 25 for those with SEND) and are trained to quality assure young people’s provision and capture other Young People’s voice. They do this in a variety of ways including; 'Mystery Shopping' and telephone calls to service users and they assess young people's funding applications to inspect whether youth provision is doing what they say in their funding application. Young Inspectors also interview staff as well as young people focus groups and then report back to organisations and service users our findings.

Young Inspectors are actively involved in important projects including working alongside Merseyside Police, Liverpool Fostering Team and the city-wide Needs Assessment for youth provision and have recently won a bid from Alder Hey Hospital to deliver a Safety-themed event in June 2024.

We meet regularly at various youth clubs including the Unity Youth and Community Centre (Toxteth), Edge Hill Youth Centre (Kensington) and 'The Shewsy' Youth Club (Everton).
