Walton Kiddiwinks Nursery
We are private day nursery in the Walton area off Rice Lane. We provide 15 hours free care for 2, 3 and 4 year olds and provide 30 hours funding which can be used solely at our nursery or shared between us and local schools. All our prices are inclusive of food and nappies. We offer indoor / outdoor provision in our large outdoor garden. We have a sensory studio that all our children can access each day. We have a separate dining area for our children to enjoy their meals prepared by our on site chef. We are open 52 weeks per year only closed bank holidays from 7.00am -6.00pm daily. We can be really flexible if you need to change your days for hospital appointments as long as you give us notice, we can offer a session to suit your needs 9.15-2.15pm.

1. How does the setting know if children need extra help and what should I do if I think my child may have special educational needs?
We would know by the relevant children's information file that we complete with the parents, we complete our baseline tracker, Key Person time. We would liaise with previous settings if they have attended If I think the child may have special educational needs, I would follow procedure starting with; Play plans and also by speaking with professionals such as, Health Visitors, Speech and Language Therapists, all with parents consent.
2. How will the staff in the setting support my child?
The progress of the child will be regularly reviewed and shared with parents, using EYFS and observations, Key Person time, 2 year old checks and a referral will be made to the appropriate services.
3. How will the curriculum be matched to my child's needs?
We ensure all children are able to access the EYFS and next steps are planned individually for each child with adaptions made according to their abilities and needs.
4. What specialist services and expertise can be accessed by the setting?
All of our staff are qualified Nursery Nurses. We work closely with our local children's centre, with parents permission, we would liaise with all health and social care services. We are also members of the EYC and we work in partnership with the local Authority.
5. How accessible is the setting?
We are happy to discuss your child individual needs and to make reasonable adjustments. The setting has wheelchair access, all of our rooms are situated downstairs. We are also happy to provide for any child's individual needs.
6. How will the setting support my child in transferring to the next stage of education?
We do transitional work with our local schools and any SEN school who will work with us. We attend local authority transition meetings to meet the staff and brief insight before your child starts.
7. How are parents involved in the setting? How can I be involved?
We have an open door policy to all parents, to discuss their children's progress. We have termly coffee mornings and we are linked into our local children's centre. We also complete summertive assessments every three months which parents are encouraged to comment on and discuss with your child's key person.
All children's work and development is online through Capture so parents and careers have easy access to.
